Visa/Work Permit

Non-Immigrant B Visa Assistance

All costs related to acquiring the Non-Immigrant B Visa will originally be the teacher’s responsibility. Most teachers will be able to obtain their Non-Immigrant B Visa at a Thai consulate or embassy in their home country prior to their departure.

In case if the teachers are unable to obtain their Non-Immigrant B prior to their arrival to Thailand, they may apply for a 60-day tourist visa from the Thai consulate/embassy, and obtain the Non-Immigrant B Visa in Laos.

Teachers who are unable to obtain the Visa prior to departure, who are attending the training/orientation course, will be assisted by Thai member(s) of MediaKids staff during a 2-3 day trip to Laos to obtain a 90 day single entry Non-Immigrant B Visa. Average costs for this trip in previous years have ranged from 4,500-6,000 Baht per teacher. (This includes all transportation, accommodation, Laos Visa, Thai Non-Immigrant B Visa). The estimated costs for the trip will be prepared and teachers must pay costs in advance. If the trip is completed under the estimated budget, the remaining monies will be returned to each teacher upon returning to Bangkok. Teachers will be expected to follow the schedule, plan, travel, and accommodation, arranged by MediaKids.

Teachers arriving following the completion of the training/orientation course may not be accompanied by a member of the MediaKids staff in obtaining the Non-Immigrant B Visa in Laos. However, an information package will be provided, complete with Thai and English instructions. All teachers must have a Non-Immigrant B Visa before they are able to begin teaching.

Work Permit

MediaKids provides and organizes work permit documents. Teachers are responsible for the costs of, and supplying MediaKids with, any and all required copies of educational documents, passport pages, health certificate, and pictures. The application for Work Permits cannot be made until a Non-Immigrant B Visa is secured.

School Project Consultants

MediaKids Academy School Project Consultants are Thai nationals with good English speaking abilities assigned to act as a mediator between
the teachers and their schools.

Although based in Bangkok, Project Consultants will visit the teachers at their school throughout the semester to help solve any problems that may occur during their teaching period. They also keep regular contact with the schools to ensure a positive relationship for everyone involved. Our project consultants will be able to communicate to the school on the teachers' behalf and to relay information from the school to them.

In addition, our project consultants will provide assistance in regards to obtaining visa and work permit. They are also the ones who seek suitable accommodation for the teachers before the latter's arrival to Thailand.
